Located at one of the city's most highly sought-after urban locations - a prime
intersection in the center of Midtown Atlanta - Phases I and II of Peachtree
Pointe Office Building will ultimately offer the community 450,000 square feet
of highly finished corporate office space; 15,000 square feet of streetfront
retail space; and 850 parking spaces. First phase is a seven-story, 165,000-square-foot
office building and 330-space parking deck, designed to accommodate future expansion
of the Phase II office building. The second phase will be a 12-story, 300,000-square-foot
building addition atop seven levels of garage parking and 520 additional parking
spaces.
Atlanta-based Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart provided master planning
and architectural services for Phases I and II. Project highlights of Phase
I include:
• An exterior cladding consisting of architectural precast concrete in
polished and Polychrome granite and tinted, low-e insulating glass in painted
aluminum frames. The unusual punched opening, modular-grid expression of the
concrete is in full contrast with glass-and-stone curtainwall treatments at
building corners. A striking focal point that fronts Peachtree Street is a circular
rotunda, which echoes the curvature of sidewalk corners in historic Atlanta.
• Outdoor landscape terraces, ground-level retail space, trees, decorative
street lighting, lush plantings, etc. create an approachable, park-like atmosphere.
A semi-circular monumental stair ascends the natural terrain, allowing entrance
to the second floor of the two-story stone- and wood-clad lobby. An open green
lawn with existing mature oak trees acts as a front door to the project.
• In addition to the obvious aesthetics of its design, Peachtree Pointe
Plaza is equipped with extensive fiber-optic telecommunications cabling for
high-tech power and data transmission. This includes high-speed DSL Internet
connections for prime tenants.
