Russia Tower in Moscow, expected to be Europe's tallest building when completed in 2012, will feature a "braced spine" structural system that, similar to a cable-stayed mast, uses sloping members to brace a central spine. Instead of tension cables, however, brace members are concrete columns arranged in a fan shape. The building will also feature photovoltaic cells and rainwater collection.
