ENTRY GUIDELINES
Judging Criteria
The ABBY Awards honors building projects that demonstrate a commitment to pushing the envelope. Projects often exhibit qualities such as (though not limited to):
- Emphasis on energy efficiency
- Streamlined facility operations
- Forward-looking designs
- Innovative solutions
- Purposeful renovation
- Community engagement
Project Summary
Provide the following information in Word documents and name each document according to the bold headings.
- Project Description — Include building type, square footage, project background and intent, design/concept/solution, and suitability to application/site.
- Project Cost — Provide the total cost of the project, a breakdown by division, as well as financing specifics, if applicable. If you're unable to provide cost information, please indicate with "N/A."
- Design/Construction Challenges — Describe any design or construction challenges, if applicable, and how they were solved.
- Special Design Features — Outline creative, aesthetic, functional and performance characteristics of the projects. Does your project meet sustainability, energy-efficiency, or other guidelines?
Project Photographs
Upload between 5-15 high-resolution images with clearly labeled file names. A variety is welcomed, including exterior and interior photos, vertical shots (cover possibilities) and views of mechanical systems (if applicable).
Publication Fee
Application is FREE for the 2012 ABBY Awards.
If your project is selected as a finalist, a publication fee is required to cover the production costs associated with the building profile for the October 2012 print edition of BUILDINGS and facilitating online exposure. You will be billed only when your project has been designated a finalist.

Upload Submission Materials
Are you ready to submit your project for BUILDINGS ABBY Awards?
1) If so, please fill out the following entry form that accompanies your submission material. Feel free to revisit the website at any time before May 18, 2012 and click on "Edit your entry." Until all information is provided, your entry is not complete or eligible for judging.
2) To upload all Word documents and photography, use your web browsers and go to http://transfer.buildings.com
Username: abbyawards
Password: upload
- Press the 'Login' button.
- Create a new folder, using the name of your project.
- Drop your files into your folder.
- When finished, disconnect by clicking on the key icon at the top of the FTP screen.
