Speakers
Yerina Mugica,  Research Associate, Natural Resources Defense Council, Center for Market Innovation Yerina specializes in developing clean energy solutions. She has worked as a consultant to government and private sector clients. She has also published case studies on renewable energy, conservation and microfinance programs in Latin America. Yerina is currently leading an initiative to unlock the energy efficiency potential in buildings by working with key industry leaders to develop a policy road map that works for consumers, business and the environment. During this webinar, Yerina will discuss market enablers, carbon abatement and government trends.
Mike Opitz,  Director, LEED Implementation, U.S. Green Building Council As USGBC's Director of LEED Implementation, Mike currently focuses on improving documentation submittals for LEED 2009. Previously, he oversaw the revisions to the LEED for Existing Buildings Certification System, with the goal of reducing barriers to market uptake by streamlining the program, focusing more strongly on ongoing building operations, clarifying the requirements, and providing more options to earn points. During this webinar, Mike will discuss details of the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance Certification System.
Jenny Carney, Director, YRG Sustainability Consultants
Jenny’s expertise is in the realm of building operations and upgrades, including helping companies, building owners, facility managers and developers incorporate sustainability into all facets of their business and building practices. She has been extensively involved in the development of the LEED for Existing Buildings Certification System and supporting resources. She currently heads up YRG's efforts in supporting clients in pursuit of LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance certification, and conducting project certification reviews and credit interpretation responses for projects on behalf of USGBC. During this webinar, Jenny will discuss implementing LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance on a project.
