Researchers at Britain’s University of Leicester and a Norwegian firm, EnSol AS, are developing a spray-on solar film from a nanomaterial that is thinner than a human hair. The film is also transparent, and can be sprayed onto windows as well as roofs and walls. The spray-on film is expected to be commercially available by 2016.
Chris Binns, a researcher at the University of Leicester, discusses the technology and its commercial applications in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_NS0eyB46I
