The Green Roundtable / NEXUS announced at Greenbuild they are expanding the Green Firm Certification program throughout the United States and beyond. The Certification is the first 3rd-party program to evaluate and recognize design and construction firms in regard to sustainability services.
Green Firm Certification allows for a third-party verification standard option. While EED, Integrated Project Delivery, and Architecture 2030 are all recognized industry standards, Green Firm Certification highlights organizational capacity.
Studio G Principal Gail Sullivan says, “"We really wanted to look at the process of the entire organization, and LEED doesn't do that. I really jumped on the opportunity."
NEXUS is joined by an Advisory Board of national industry partners that reflects the range of firms that the program supports: ABC, AGC, AIA, ASHRAE, ASPE, BOMA, BSA, CORENET, CSI, DBIA, IFMA, NAIOP, SCUP and USGBC.
Green Firm Certification has also received generous support from the Kresge Foundation to develop an infrastructure that provides a user-friendly online platform to manage the Certification process. Learn more about Certification at www.greenroundtable.org/certification.
