I&S wins 2011 Maggie award

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA—The staff at Interiors & Sources is proud to announce that its July/August 2010 issue has won the 2011 Maggie Award in the category of Best Non-Paid Trade magazine with a circulation of less than 50,000. The Maggie Awards—now celebrating its 60th year—are presented annually by the Western Publishing Association (WPA) and recognize editorial excellence in individuals and companies whose work is deemed “The Best in the West” in a wide variety of publishing categories.

“We are honored to be recognized with this prestigious award,” says Robert Nieminen, editor of Interiors & Sources. “As a media brand serving the commercial interior design community, we strive to deliver timely, relevant content to our audience in an attractive and engaging format, and this award affirms our commitment to publishing excellence.”

Entries were judged by a stringent set of criteria that evaluate quality based on how well editorial components work together to meet the magazines’ objectives, readability, research, design and other editorial devices.

This is the third time Interiors & Sources has won the Maggie Award in the Best Non-Paid Trade category. The magazine won previously in 2008 and 2010.

About the Maggie Awards:

One of WPA’s primary objectives is to promote the pursuit of excellence among publishing professionals. The tools, training and information WPA provides are designed to improve skills, foster creativity and inspire the publishing community to do their best work. WPA believes recognition is the best way to honor achievement. For more than 59 years, WPA has bestowed awards of excellence to deserving individuals and companies whose work is deemed “The Best in the West” in a wide variety of publishing categories. The Annual Maggie Awards Banquet and black-tie dinner is the most prestigious publishing event in the West. Publishing professionals gather to honor excellence in print and electronic publishing in over 100 editorial, design and promotional and event categories. A trademark of the Maggie ceremony is the high-tech, visually creative multimedia show featuring entries from the current year.
