Cabot Wrenn Pratt Institute Chair Wins Green Good Design Award

HICKORY, N.C.—Cabot Wrenn, a leading manufacturer of contract furniture made in the USA, was recently named as one of the recipients of the first annual Green Good Design Awards by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Associated with the Good Design award in existence since 1950, the Green Good Design Awards bestow international recognition to those outstanding individuals, companies, organizations, governments and institutions that, together with their products, services, programs, ideas and concepts, have forwarded exceptional thinking and inspired greater progress toward a healthier and more sustainable universe.

Pairing modern design with bench-built craftsmanship, the Pratt Chair was designed by Professor Mark Goetz and his faculty-student team from the renowned Pratt Institute and manufactured by Cabot Wrenn. Its unique faceted structure gives physical form to the many perspectives and multidimensional talents of Pratt Institute.

This innovative chair showcases the exquisite wood-working that Cabot Wrenn is known for. It is crafted from sustainable, renewable local wood and features non-toxic stains that are virtually free of all volatile organic compound emissions and ozone depleting substances.

With every chair purchased, a donation will be made to the Pratt Institute.

“Cabot Wrenn is pleased to be the recipient of the Green Good Design Award,” says Vice President of Cabot Wrenn Ryan Stites. “We strive to be a responsible steward of our resources and are always trying to improve our products and our production processes to minimize the impact on our environment.”
