A recent survey of commercial property owners and building managers reveals some mindblowing insights regarding tenant desires. 

A massive 90% of commercial property owners and building managers place high-speed network connections above gyms, cafeterias, and other amentities as one of the highest ranking priorities for tenants.

Comcast Corporation’s 2011 State of Communications Services in Commercial Real Estate Survey polled nearly 500 U.S. commercial real estate building owners and property managers, all of whom are members of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) to come up with some provocative data points and takeaways:

90% of building owners and managers say that access to advanced communications services is the most important selling point behind only price, parking and location;

61% of respondents report that having advanced communications in their buildings provides them with a competitive advantage;

One out of every two respondents say that providing multiple service provider options positively impacts occupancy rates by up to 19%; and

Over one third of respondents say that in 75% of negotiations with prospective tenants, the topic of access to advanced communications services is discussed.

As a result, many property owners and building managers are inspecting and expanding buildings network infrastructure options and using these technologies to give them a competitive edge and marketing tool for attracting and retaining tenants in today’s challenging economic environment.  Forget the pool and capitalize in the cloud for your next focus on tenant services
