CALHOUN, Ga.—Today, the spring equinox of 2012, brings the market launch of Mannington Commercial's Equinox Collection. The collection features three carpet patterns—Light Grid, Shadow Play and Ecliptic Point—inspired by visual fields of light and shadow, rendered as pure texture in a high fashion aesthetic.
Building upon a creative collaboration with Korean industrial design firm Ryan Harc, Mannington designed Equinox with a proprietary ultra-large fiber and patented variable twist technology. The end result is carpet that has a deeply textural, bouclé feel, yet maintains commercial grade performance. With 13 fashion-inspired colorways that range from neutrals to intense, saturated hues, the collection is beautifully suited for corporate, retail, higher education and upscale healthcare projects.
"Ever since we debuted the designs for Equinox at NeoCon 2011, there has been a great deal of anticipation for this collection—in particular its unique ability to combine high design with high performance standards,” says Natalie Jones, vice president of brand development and creative product. "Because the collection is all about the interplay of light and shadow, grids and gradients, we decided to release it on the equinox, the day traditionally held to be equal parts day and night."
Available in both broadloom and modular tile, Equinox is made with Ultron 6,6 yarn-dyed nylon for superior appearance retention. The modular tile is backed with Mannington's Infinity®RE modular backing system, 30 percent recycled content by total product weight (10 percent post-consumer content). UltraBac®RE high performance broadloom backing contains a minimum of 10 percent post-consumer recycled content by total product weight. Infinity RE and UltraBac RE are certified to the NSF-140 Platinum level as Environmentally Preferable Products.
