Ranked No. 1 on The ‘A’ List in Buildings magazine’s “Who’s Who in the Buildings Market 2002,” CB Richard Ellis makes it to the top again, with the savvy – and significant – $431 million acquisition of Insignia Financial Group in late July 2003. The combined entity, which will operate under the CBRE banner as the largest full-service real estate company of its kind, boasts revenues of more than $1.7 billion and a total labor force of more than 14,000 workers. Operating globally from 250 offices in 48 countries, the combined companies completed over 374 million square feet of leasing worth more than $30 billion. The international property and corporate facilities management portfolio totals more than 700 million square feet of space. According to a company statement, “This unrivaled transaction volume creates market knowledge that allows [CB Richard Ellis] to seize opportunities, speed the transaction process, and better advise clients on all their real estate decisions.” In addition to its business production, CBRE offers the industry’s largest proprietary research infrastructure. CBRE’s research includes nearly 300 local market research professionals, complemented by the macro-analytical and forecasting capabilities of its internationally recognized Torto-Wheaton Research unit. CBRE’s financial strength – with tens of millions of dollars in annual free cash-flow (after paying for debt-service and fixed overhead) – will enable the firm to invest in training and technology, and maintain stability and service throughout all economic cycles.

[Editors’ Note: Now the undisputed leader in the world’s two largest and most significant business centers (New York City and London) with the acquisition of Insignia Financial Group, CB Richard Ellis puts some real heavy size and scope behind its consistent quality service and delivery of real estate products. Market intelligence, critical analytical thinking, technology, and resources meld superbly with the organization’s simple guidelines: put clients first; enable clients to make the most informed real estate decisions; tailor products and services for each client’s needs; be creative; and deliver top results. Industry players, take note: The focus, first and foremost, is the client. CB Richard Ellis continues to leverage its unrivaled staple of intellectual capital with technology and people resources to literally replace the age-old real estate mantra of “location, location, location” with “satisfaction, satisfaction, satisfaction.”]
