IFMA's World Workplace 2003 Expo to Offer New Research on Value of Interior Plants

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2003--From October 19th through the 21st, the distinguished International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) will hold the IFMA's World Workplace and AFE's Facilities America conferences together, creating the largest, most dynamic gathering of facility professionals in North America. In keeping with this year's timely theme, "Pure FM, The Business of Sustainability," the Expo will include an educational booth offering vital news for all environmentally responsible workplace professionals. The national educational campaign, Plants at Work will issue compelling new data supporting the use of natures' own green machine, interior plants, towards creating a productive, holistic and integrated indoor environment.

At booth number 2339, concerned workplace professionals will find extraordinary international papers, presentations, and research which elucidate exactly how interior plants are critical to creating business value through corporate sustainability. World Workplace will be the first opportunity for members of IFMA, The American Institute of Architects (AIA), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to be exposed to the irrefutable findings. One anticipated outcome of releasing this data, is the inclusion of interior plants as a point of credit to those seeking the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI). In addition to the powerful indoor air-cleaning research available to study, Plants at Work will share research and presentations verifying that interior plants reduce cases of "Sick Building Syndrome," lower workplace stress, boost employee productivity, enhance workstation privacy and reduce noise.

Plants at Work is a national educational campaign dedicated to informing professionals and the public about the many benefits interior plants can bring to the workplace. For more information on these benefits, please see: http://www.plantsatwork.org, or contact M.J. Gilhooley at mj@plantsatwork.org.
