Mark Anderson, Marty Pribble, Joanne Rodriguez, and Matt Stephens are the first Tremco employees to earn LEED accreditation. The accreditation recognizes their knowledge of integrated design and their capacity to facilitate the LEED certification process on the LEED Professional Accreditation exam.

The architectural community will benefit from the knowledge, education and backgrounds of these newly accredited Tremco Architectural Specialists. In addition to architectural specialists that specialize in roofing applications, Tremco’s Roofing and Building Maintenance Division has numerous products and systems that can contribute to a building’s ability to achieve LEED certification. Building owners can use Tremco’s green (vegetated) roof as well as a range of ENERGY STAR® qualified systems and coatings to receive points in the LEED category of Sustainable Sites, a LEED standardized system rating category. Tremco’s POWERbright™ single ply, peel and stick membrane, and paver photovoltaic systems can contribute to a building’s eligibility to receive points in the LEED category of Energy and Atmosphere. Also, Tremco’s roofing products with recycled content can help a building receive points in the LEED category of Material and Resources.

Tremco’s Sealant and Weatherproofing Products group contributes to LEED credit, specifically in the areas of Storm Water Management, Heat Island Effect, Construction Waste Management, Recycled content, Local/Regional Materials, Low-Emitting Materials, and Optimizing Energy Performance.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED program promotes the design, construction and operation of environmentally responsible (“green”) buildings through a standardized rating system that awards points for using acceptable products and construction practices.  Categories include Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Material and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Policy.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is the nation’s leading coalition for the advancement of buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. Major tools to drive this market transformation include the Council’s LEED Green Building Rating System™, International Green Building Conference and Exposition, membership summits, information exchange, education, and policy advocacy.
