With 160 offices in 48 countries, New York City-headquartered Cushman & Wakefield Inc. (C&W) advises, implements, and manages on behalf of landlords, tenants, and investors through each stage of the real estate process. Approximately 1,450 professionals are involved full-time in facilities. C&W reports management responsibilities for more than 361 million square feet of space: 256.2 million square feet in 3,177 office buildings; 25.2 million square feet in 1,084 shopping centers; 6.3 million square feet in six multi-family housing buildings, with a collective total of 21,000 units; 16.4 million square feet in 17 “other commercial” facilities; and 57.3 million square feet in 302 industrial buildings. C&W estimates it will spend $1.2 billion for its clients in capital spending toward facilities in 2004, with another $7.5 billion devoted to operations. In 2004, 550 projects (involving 17.7 million square feet of space) will be completed.
