Who's Who in the Buildings Market 2005

The 2005 'A' List

In its 24th year, Buildings magazine’s Who’s Who in the Buildings Market report pinpoints the companies, organizations, and departments whose decisions and actions define success in a competitive real estate marketplace. Investing in truly innovative employees, taking calculated risks, and implementing detailed strategies have differentiated the good from the even better.

Across North America - and, more increasingly, globally - the professionals involved in the business of buildings respond and adapt to ever-changing demands and critical issues. Savvy financial and marketing expertise, in concert with hands-on experience and entrepreneurial spirit, ensure that these leaders are now able to embrace the proactive management philosophy of truly understanding their position in the marketplace. These high-quality, customer-driven service organizations are employing new initiatives to meld any existing fragmentation within their firms or departments, all the while addressing regulatory compliance and occupant concerns with professionalism, empathy, and lightning-fast speed.

Once again, Buildings highlights this year’s selection of industry players (handpicked by the editorial staff) that are offering something “more” in addressing their - and the marketplace’s - critical issues. This ‘A’ List of facilities-related businesses and departments from development/ownership, management, corporate, institutional, and government entities is a roster that is intended to represent participant organizations from each industry segment we reach. It’s entirely subjective, yet represents a multitude of hours in research, discussions, and knowledge-seeking. The Buildings Census, which follows the ‘A’ List, is delineated by industry segment and offers stats and facts (much of which has been provided directly from the organizations) from many of today’s big names in the business.

The ‘A’ List

See how these firms are addressing critical issues in the marketplace with an unyielding quest for knowledge, integrated business processes, and top talent.

This year’s ‘A’ List, developed by the Buildings editorial staff, is a subjective roster and based upon industry interviews, questionnaires, and published information: 10K reports, company websites, industry-related reports, Hoover’s Online, and other published and electronic materials. While every attempt has been made to make the ‘A’ List and the Buildings Census as complete as possible, Buildings magazine cannot guarantee the accuracy of all information. For companies interested in participation in 2006, please contact our editorial department at (319) 364-6167 or at (content@buildings.com).
