Department of Veterans Affairs
Undoubtedly, the Department of Veterans Affairs has one of the most rewarding missions in the U.S. government; it also has one of its most challenging. This owner, tenant, and operator of one of the nation’s largest healthcare-related real estate portfolios (valued at $35 billion) is charged with partnering with its customers to become the most effective resource for every program, product, and service in which it engages. Of particular note is its Capital Asset Realignment for Enhanced Services (CARES) initiative, a standardized process that, when completed, will produce a national plan for redirecting VA resources where they are most needed to provide high-quality care to veterans. Impressive goals; let’s see where this goes.
