Beginning this fall, a $2.5-million energy- and water-saving retrofit of 22 buildings throughout Worcester, MA-based Assumption College’s campus will contribute to a healthier environment and reduce operating costs.
- Lighting upgrades will take place in administrative offices, athletic facilities, the library, and residence halls, and an innovative lighting system for the school’s new stadium will cut lighting spill onto neighboring properties.
- Plumbing upgrades, through the installation of toilet flush valves and shower heads, will save the college nearly 3 million gallons of water per year.
- Old windows will be replaced with energy-efficient, insulated windows in older buildings.
