"Amanda Chair: Put Your Back Into It" Design Contest

What can you do with an Amanda™ Chair? Incorporate a logo. Dictate a shape. Engrave a signature. Make it a gang. Use multiple fabrics. Add arms or casters. Repeat a motif. For those who enjoy the freedom of making a space their own, or interior designers and architects looking for those special elements that help establish the essence and presence of a building or space—the Amanda Chair and this contest make it possible.

"Amanda: Put Your Back Into It" is a juried contest that lets designers stretch their creative muscles outside the mandates of a particular job. The winning designer will receive a trip to Miami Beach including airfare and lodging. Two runners-up will each receive a chair incorporating their design. Entries must be received no later than June 30, 2007. Entry application and a complete list of rules can be downloaded at www.grandrapidschair.com.

"This contest showcases what's unique about our company and this chair. Our manufacturing technology and systems allow customization to a degree that's fairly unusual in the furniture industry today; that capability allows our customers to raise the creative bar while assuring quality, function, and delivery deadlines on the products they specify," says Tom Southwell, vice president of sales and marketing for the Grand Rapids, MI-based company.

Designers, architects, a company CEO or anyone with a good imagination can showcase their creativity by submitting an original back design and the concept behind the design. Grand Rapids Chair Company can incorporate most any shape, inlay, cut, upholstery treatment or graphic design within an 18 inch by 18 inch space.
