The new Commons Center at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, is a dining hall, student center, and extracurricular heart of a new quadrangle. It’s also the first higher-education LEED Gold building in Tennessee. Sustainable features include translucent electric sun-tracking shades, custom-designed pendant lights with daylight harvesting switches, proximity sensor faucets, waterless urinals, and eco-sensitive fireplaces.
