GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved the new edition of ANSI/BIFMA S6.5 Small Office/Home Office Products standard, and copies of the new edition are available from BIFMA immediately.
The BIFMA SOHO Subcommittee worked diligently to harmonize this new edition of S6.5 Small Office/Home Office Products standard with other ANSI/BIFMA standards such as ANSI/BIFMA X5.9-2004 Storage Units, ANSI/BIFMA X5.6-2003 Panel Systems, and ANSI/BIFMA X.5.5-2008 Desk Products standard.
The definitions, test set-ups, test procedures, and load applications have been modified for consistency among these standards.
The standard was formally approved by ANSI following an open, balanced, multi-stakeholder consensus voting process and public comment period that included manufacturers, suppliers, test labs, academia, users, and retailers.
