FRANKFURT, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2002--Echelon Corporation (Nasdaq:ELON), the worldwide leader in networking everyday devices, announced that it is showcasing its leading position in the building automation industry at this year's light + building exhibition, 14 - 18 April, 2002 in Frankfurt, Germany. From the booth (Hall 9.2 Stand E10) Echelon will demonstrate the extensive, open, LonWorks(R) based building system implemented in its San Jose, California headquarters.
Attendees can directly control the environment of one of the offices in the company's headquarters over 10,000 kilometers away. Users are able to adjust temperature set points, change occupancy schedules, modify energy saving set-backs, and define lighting scenes. Echelon will also feature the company's first extensions to its i.LON (R) family of products. The i.LON 100 Server is aimed at use in medium sized commercial buildings and for managing multiple LonWorks networks from central locations and the i.LON 10 Ethernet Adapter is targeted at home owners, property managers and maintenance technicians, allowing them to monitor and control everyday devices using standard web browsers -- at home, at work or on the road.
In the more than 550 square meter LonWorks pavilion, Echelon and the LNO Organization (the German LonUsers(R) International user organization), together with over 50 partners, will demonstrate how LonWorks networks have become a de facto standard in building automation. Products and solutions will be shown from the areas of lighting, room control, energy management, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, security, access control, sensor control, door control, remote control, system integration, and visualization, to name just a few. Additionally, many of the companies represented in the LonWorks pavilion have their own exhibit spaces located nearby.
Daily presentations will showcase LonWorks installations and solutions from around the world. Behind-the-scene details will be given on why LonWorks technology was chosen over other technologies. Round table discussions will also be held allowing you to witness first-hand the ways in which system integrators have addressed the different technologies, and why LonWorks networks come out on top. Presentations will range from general to technical and address both the novice and professional audiences.
A true display of the strength that LonWorks networks have around the globe is demonstrated by the list of worldwide companies exhibiting alongside Echelon at this year's fair. These companies include: ABB Gebaudetechnik AG, AGEKO GmbH, APICE s.r.l., Boos Klima + Kalte GmbH, B+R Elektro-Steuerungstechnik GmbH, Comtec Technologie, Delmatic Ltd., Gebr.
