Leadership in Challenging Times

Challenging times require strong leaders. Learn and grow by attending the International Facility Management Association’s (IFMA’s) World Workplace, to be held October 6 through 8 in Toronto. Evaluate, learn, network, discover, explore, and experience workplace dynamics among industry peers.

Following are highlights of the conference and exhibition:

  • Opening Keynote, Sunday, October 6, at 1:15 p.m., featuring James A. Baker III, distinguished statesman and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Baker will offer a unique, incisive view on global issues. From his experiences on the international stage, he will address both national and global issues related to diplomacy, politics, and the economy, as well as the importance of leadership in challenging times.
  • Educational Sessions, Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8, on tracks that cover seven subject areas addressing workplace issues, skills, and practices. Mix and match or study one particular topic: energy, environmental/sustainability, technology, alternative workplaces, leadership, FM core competencies, and security.
  • More Variety on the Expo Floor, Sunday, October 6, Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8. The IFMA’s World Workplace exposition is unique in its diversity. Just as workplace responsibilities are varied and diverse, so are the companies that are represented at the expo. Enhance information learned with practical tools available on the expo floor. More than 250 companies will be displaying products and services to give attendees a broad understanding of what’s available to help them manage the workplace more effectively.
  • Closing Keynote, Tuesday, October 8, at 8:00 a.m., featuring Janet Lapp, Ph.D., author, publisher, celebrated speaker, and creator and host of the award-winning CBS series, “Keep Well.” Lapp will encourage attendees to rethink how they are adjusting to current change and how to create a successful future in an uplifting message.
  • Variety of Special Events, including IFMA Foundation Fundraisers, the Utilities Council/Doug Underwood Annual Golf Tournament, the IFMA Foundation Gala and Silent Auction, a Welcome Reception, the IFMA Awards of Excellence Reception and Banquet, and more.
  • For more information, call IFMA headquarters at (713) 623-4362 or visit (www.worldworkplace.org).
