Designer Christopher Panichella and Arcadia
My parents tell me that my little sister will be born later this year. They’re going to name her Islettes.
Depending on my mood, I can be playful with lots of bright colors and fun patterns, or sophisticated in neutrals or fine leather. I especially love mixing up multiple fabrics for a two-tone effect.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
I’m really casual, down-to-earth and friendly. People feel really comfortable with me, like
they can relax and just be themselves. I fit in
anywhere as I’m pretty much the type that goes with the flow.
WHERE DO YOU FEEL MOST AT HOME?
I enjoy being out in public. You can find me out and about at colleges and universities, community centers, lobbies and lounges, and in all kinds of contemporary office environments.
WHAT’S YOUR BEST FEATURE?
My friends all say I’m flexible. My multiple
connection points allow me to be arranged in
an endless series of configurations. (You could say that makes me pretty efficient, too!)
WHAT MAKES YOU SPECIAL?
I’m carefree and fun-loving, but I have a strong pedigree behind me—so I blend the best of my own personality with all the values my parents taught me: to be strong, reliable and enduring. They have such a great sense of design and are really dependable—I get all those advantages while still being able to express my own youthful, lighthearted side.
I won the Best of NeoCon Silver Award in the Bench category at the 2009 World’s Trade Fair in Chicago. I also achieved SCS Indoor Advantage Gold Certification, which means that I meet BIFMA M-7.1 and X-7.1 requirements for low-emitting office furniture and seating (and that I qualify for the LEED-CI EQ 4.5 credit for office furniture).
