Trenchless pipe lining companies may not understand the rationale behind tearing your building apart in order to ultimately protect it.
It is a counterproductive process. One of the most irresponsible things a property manager can do is allow construction on his or her property when there are sufficient solutions available that do not require any demolition to the property.

Trenchless pipe lining technologies are not new – some of the technologies have been used for decades, passing the test of time. For example, starting in the late 1980s, all of the U.S. Navy’s Aircraft Carriers’ collection, hold and transfer pipe systems have been lined with Nu Flow’s blown-in epoxy coating.
Trenchless solutions paint the property manager as an innovative, proactive hero. Pipes are rehabilitated in an eco-friendly, no-mess manner that causes extremely little to no disruption or construction, saving the customer money, time and inconvenience. The trenchless pipe lining method consists of having one or several access points to the pipe system, then pulling or inverting the liner inside the pipe system, without disturbing the locale above the pipe system. This also makes it easier to line pipes several feet below the ground or in ceilings of busy commercial space.
The alternative fix is a repipe, which is a traditional, messy repair process. A repipe project consists of the demolition of the most external structure surrounding the failing pipes, whether it is a marble floor, a restroom wall or the ceiling of a bank. If the said pipes are located in the ground, then the concrete slab foundation must be discarded, as well as the accompanying dirt.
The failing pipes are removed, which puts the pipe system out of commission for days or weeks. New pipes must be ordered, placed and sealed. Once the new pipes are tested, the pipe system becomes operational. New dirt is placed around the pipe system if it is in the ground. Workers come to the property to repair walls, floors and/or ceilings that were destroyed during the repipe. The end result does not justify the means, because the new metal pipes will inherit the same problems that doomed the original pipes.
The most effective, long-term fix for failing pipe systems inside and outside of buildings is pipe lining technology. Liners that are installed inside the pipe system can protect the pipes from many types of common failures, including debris build-up, corrosion, leaks and root intrusion. Most importantly, pipe liners protect the carried contents from mixing with the metals within the pipes, which can result in expedited pipe decomposition or can contaminate the substance being carried through the pipe system (for example, rusty water).
Do not choose a solution that will cause downtime for your building or tenants. Utilize the unique and innovative technologies that were developed to help preserve all types of buildings. Trenchless pipe lining solutions have far too many benefits to give it a passing glance.
