As Building Information Modeling (BIM) becomes more prevalent, the need to confirm that the site has conformed to what has been modeled is critical to realize the benefits.  As schedules pull up, budgets reduce, and projects become more complex the need to quickly and efficiently gather detailed site documentation is a necessity. 


This webinar will discuss how 3D laser scanning was used on a project at UMass Lowell to coordinate information between CW Keller & Associates and several other trades.  Keller was responsible for a large wood and steel feature element but not the structural members tying it back to the structure itself.  Using a FARO Focus3D, they were able to inform the General Contractor and their subcontractors not only where to locate connection points but to verify they were installed correctly.
