5 Roofing Tips for Fall

1) Conduct a Pre-Winter Inspection

Winter is coming, and so is the extreme weather that often accompanies it. If your site is susceptible to winter storms of any kind, take action ahead of time to ensure your roof makes it through harsh seasonal weather unscathed. Start with an inspection – look for leaks, stains and cracks in exterior walls and check the ceiling and interior walls for signs of leaks and staining. When the rooftop is covered in snow and ice, it will be impossible to find leaks. Also make sure gutters, downspouts and scuppers are cleaned out and fully functional – drainage problems contribute to future roof failure.
