Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Firms Join Tremco’s Federal Small Business Strategic Alliance Program

Tremco is Poised to Offer Opportunities to Qualified, Self-Performing SDVOSBs As Part of an On-going Commitment to Our Country, Our Customers, and to Veterans of the United States Military

Tremco’s Roofing and Building Maintenance Division has enhanced service to its Federal customers by welcoming Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) into its Federal Small Business Strategic Alliance Program. The Strategic Alliance Program was initiated by Tremco’s Federal Team to foster relationships, mentor, and train Small Business General Construction and Roofing firms in three specific areas including strategic federal marketing, technical skills, and federal project submittals.

Beverly Kuykendall, federal small business program manager for Tremco Inc. states that, “We are proud to be able to offer genuine opportunities to those who served our nation through major sacrifice. Adding this category of firms to Tremco’s Strategic Alliance Program is another proactive step in working to meet the needs of our federal customers.  Tremco is poised to offer opportunities to qualified, self-performing SDVOSBs as part of an on-going commitment to our country, our customers, and to veterans of the United States military.”

Tremco is extending its program to assist general construction and roofing firms that are owned and operated by Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. Iron Eagle Environmental Services Inc. located in Wantagh, NY; RCI located in Tuscaloosa, AL; Jam Construction in Titusville, FL; and Special Forces and General Services in Columbia, SC, are SDVOSBs that recently joined the program specifically for the marketing and mentoring assistance that Tremco offers. The Tremco Small Business Program Manager selected these firms in concert with the Federal Specialists based on the strength of their core competencies in the areas of general construction and roofing.

Prompted by the implementation of Public Law 108-183, Tremco’s Small Business Office actively pursues business relationships with legitimate, credible SDVOSBs who have the capacity to self-perform on government contracts. Under the authority of section 308 of Public Law 108-183, federal agencies are encouraged to solicit and negotiate with small business concerns that are owned and controlled by one or more service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses that have the capacity to fulfill government requirements.  The requirements can be set-aside or sole-sourced to qualified SDVOSBs.

The Tremco Federal Small Business Strategic Alliance Program is an activity-intense, results-oriented program. The primary objective is to train and share vital business management and federal marketing information with Small Business firms.  Tremco has strong relationships with 8(a), HUBZone and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. These firms work with Tremco as primes on government contracts. Partner firms add value to the products and services offered by Tremco. Through quality performance and strong business skills, these firms gain an opportunity to become a part of Tremco’s commercial contractor base.  This affords partner firms the opportunity to diversify their performance portfolios to include both federal and non-federal projects.

Headquartered in Beachwood, OH, Tremco Inc. and Weatherproofing Technologies Inc., ISO 9001:2000 certified companies, provide Roofing and Weatherproofing Peace of Mind to educational, healthcare, government, and industrial customers. In business since 1928, Tremco joined the RPM International Inc. family of companies in 1997.
