Installation of occupancy, CO2, humidity, photo, temperature, and multifunctional sensors is growing rapidly. A new report from Navigant Research says these six types will see the most growth from 2016-2025 and forecasts that the sensor market will increase in value from its current level of $1.2 billion to $3.2 billion by 2025.

The report identifies several factors that are driving the change, including new expectations from building occupants, energy efficiency and sustainability goals, and a workforce that’s getting older. Also noted is the role that intelligent sensors can play by integrating with building controls and providing actionable insights for building professionals to improve facility performance.
