C&A Introduces Gridworks

New line showcases the next generation of design and tufting technology

(August 17, 2001, DALTON, GA) – C&A Floorcoverings’ new style, Gridworks, proves that two really are better than one. Introduced during the recent NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, Gridworks received exceptional reviews from leading design professionals from dozens of U.S.-based and international firms that appreciate the marriage of leading-edge technology with an all-new tufting technology.

Known in the industry as a company with environmental expertise and ingenuity, Gridworks is an example of C&A’s forward-thinking technological innovations and advancements. The collection is the first style to be manufactured on C&A’s StratatecÔ tufting machine, which allows for intricate patterning capabilities on both needlebars rather than the typical singular bar. The resulting technology enables the design to be overlaid with two distinct patterns in the same substrate, creating a depth and density of design commonly found in fine textile fabrics.

The style also boasts the new technology’s ability to render finer, more refined design details, resulting from a sophisticated pattern mechanism. This device allows for a nearly limitless number of pile height variables with precise control.

“Gridworks has primed C&A to be at the forefront of a new interiors trend,” says Nat Harrison, director of design and product development at C&A Floorcoverings. “It has a remarkably versatile design that will appeal to both designers and facility managers in a host of markets.”

Gridworks features a playful organic design in the background overlaid with a random geometric pattern. The result is a fresh mix of traditional and whimsical looks in 16 colorways, including Juniper, Chamomile, Lemongrass and Fennel, which range from sophisticated neutrals to fashion-oriented retro colors.

Gridworks is available with a 22-ounce face weight in tile and six-foot rolls and is constructed with 100-percent DuPont Antron Lumena. Designed with wide appeal, the collection is ideal for the corporate, retail and government markets, along with the healthcare and higher education segments.
