Management Acquires Assets of Arcat From Bricsnet Nv

Arcat to Intensify Focus in Assisting Building Product Manufacturers' Efforts to Get Specified By Architects, Engineers and Specifiers

Fairfield, CT February 15, 2002

ARCAT, Inc., a newly-formed company, today announced that it has completed a management buyout of all assets of The Architect's Catalog, Inc. (ARCAT), from Bricsnet NV.

Bricsnet NV, a Belgium-based company, has refocused its efforts on the real estate and facility management market, resulting in the divestiture of its architectural CAD software business in addition to The Architect's Catalog, Inc.

ARCAT, Inc. will continue to publish the annual ARCAT Directory containing over 1,300 pages of building product catalogs distributed to 40,000 US architects, engineers, and specifiers. Additionally, it will continue its pre-eminent Internet site hwww.arcat.com as a leading source of building product information on over 9,000 building product manufacturers. Also residing on arcat.com are ARCAT Specs, the largest electronic library of proprietary specifications written in the industry standard CSI 3-Part Format, along with ARCAT Details, CAD drawings in .dwg and .dxf formats. Last year, construction professionals visited the site over 1 million times sourcing and specifying building product information for their construction projects.

Rick Jannott, President of ARCAT, Inc. comments, "The management buyout enables us to intensify and strengthen our focus of providing architects and specifiers with tools to select and specify building product manufacturers' products".
