Items must support end users in commercial settings, including education, corporate, healthcare, hospitality, government, and retail.

Products should enhance building management through sustainability, maintenance, durability, productivity, occupant health, collaboration, space optimization, or energy efficiency.

Award Levels

Every finalist is guaranteed to earn a Grand Prize (1st) or a Merit Award (2nd).

One product will also receive the exclusive BUILDINGS Favorite, a personal seal of approval from our editorial team that says “Wow, we want one of those!”


Commercial products must be on display at NeoCon and available to buyers by the end of 2016. Residential products and individual product winners from 2014 and 2015 are not eligible.

Entry Materials

A press release or brochure – A standard press release is suitable, though the strongest entries describe the functionality, performance, or productivity of the product as it relates to facilities management.

High-resolution images (up to five) – A mix of standard and application shots is best so judges can visualize how the product is used. Only one will be selected for publication.

Images should be saved at 300 dpi (at least 250KB) in JPEG, TIFF, or EPS format. Please label each file with this format: CompanyName_ProductName1.

Submission Fee $195. Pay online by credit card.
Finalist Selection Finalists are selected by May 27 based on their relevance to facilities management.

Each entry will be judged by our editorial staff based on your submission materials (press release + photography). If your product is selected as a finalist, it will then be reviewed by a BUILDINGS editor at NeoCon.

This is a competitive awards program – submission does not guarantee selection. Your company may submit multiple products, but only one may be selected per category.

If your product is not selected, it does not move forward in the competition and will not be included in the Product Innovations feature. Entries that do not win will be considered for placement in a future issue in the regular Products Section.

NeoCon Judging

Each finalist will receive a 15-minute booth appointment on the Monday of NeoCon (June 13) to view the product in person. Editors will meet with a company representative and ask additional questions about the entry.

Booth appointments will be scheduled when finalist notifications are released (end of May).

Winners will be announced after the show during the week of June 24. You will receive an email updating your finalist status to Merit Award (2nd), Grand Prize (1st), or Editor’s Favorite.

NeoCon Signage You will receive a PDF award sign that can be incorporated into your showroom at your discretion. This high resolution file can be printed in a variety of sizes.
Award Coverage

Product Innovations is a dedicated feature in our August 2016 issue. Your product description will be 80-100 words and includes an image.

The online feature will be promoted on our homepage, in our August 8 Facility System Solutions e-newsletter, and across our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).

Your product will also be added to our Online Products page, a digital catalog of solutions for facility managers.

PR Support

Winners are mailed an award plaque and complimentary issues of the magazine. They will also have access to the Product Innovations logo and a press release for customization.
