Outlook for housing complex costs

Senior Living Center

This 104,000-square-foot facility has 132 mixed-income units with 75% set aside for residents whose incomes are 60% or less of the area’s median income. The remaining 25% are market-rate units with rents ranging from $485 to $1,450 per month. Multiple floor plans include studios and two-bedroom apartments. The complex’s exterior consists of brick and vinyl siding. The main entry is capped with a three-story cupola that provides daylight for an atrium. Amenities include libraries, computer rooms, beauty salons, craft rooms, and wellness facilities.

Public Housing Complex

This redevelopment turned Savannah, GA’s first public housing complex into a $50 million mixed-use development with 220 multifamily units, 13 single-family units, 100 senior units, retail, office and other commercial uses. Rents range from public housing to market rate. The development is certified LEED-ND (Neighborhood Development) Silver and the 11 buildings in Phase I are certified LEED-H (Homes) Gold. The design of this infill development respects the surrounding neighborhood through compact blocks, generous sidewalks and retail.
