Keep Occupants Accountable

While tailgaiting among employees is usually harmless, there’s nothing to say that the next time it happens won’t involve someone with nefarious intentions. If you’ve noticed an uptick in tailgating incidents, don’t be afraid to track them. Use your access control system to isolate the occupants who have been allowing careless access and engage with them respectfully after the fact. A simple conversation with security personnel explaining the grave risk and unnecessary nature of tailgating can help not only cut down on incidence of the behavior but also help to build a team relationship between security and building occupants.
