No matter how efficient your restroom’s fixtures are designed to be, if they’re leaking, they’re wasting water. Don’t assume that because there isn’t a puddle in the restroom that everything is fine – water leaks can start out small. It’s best to stay proactive and include regular checks within your maintenance plan. If you have tank toilets, using a dye tab to test for leaks as an easy, inexpensive method. If you can see the dye in the bowl shortly after applying the tab, the flapper is probably leaking and you’ve found an opportunity to eliminate waste.
