Money-Saving Products 2020

BUILDINGS Media has audiences with more than 75,000 building owners and facility managers who are always looking for innovative and budget-friendly products.

The 2020 Money-Saving Products awards program supplies the best of these products to our audiences. There is no charge for you to submit your product to this competitive award program!

We did things differently in 2019—we chose three editors’ choice winners that our editors thought stood out. Each received a free express listen podcast that featured their product. BUILDINGS is proud to announce we will offer three editors’ choice winners again in 2020!

Check back the end of February for the results. We will contact everyone who submitted, regardless if their product was chosen or not.

Not submitting the required information could disqualify you.

Submission Deadline Extended: Feb. 7, 2020

Submission Fee: Free

Submitter Profile: Manufacturers with products that support commercial buildings and create cost savings for facility managers and owners.

  • Residential, contractor, and construction-related products and products selected from 20192018 and 2017 are not eligible. (The same winning product from previous years cannot be submitted. Manufacturers/companies with winning products in previous years can enter a different product.)

  • Products must be available in the U.S.

Winners Notified: Feb. 20, 2020

Categories: Energy Management, HVAC, Building Automation, Life Safety & Security, Janitorial, Envelope, Roofing, Water & Plumbing, Lighting and Interiors.

  • Items must be compatible with education, corporate, healthcare, hospitality, government and retail.

  • Products can enhance building management through energy efficiency, water conservation, space optimization, labor costs, occupant health, liability or durability.

Entry Materials

  • News release or brochure: A standard news release is suitable. Submitters must elaborate on the product’s cost savings in an additional field on the entry form above.

  • High-resolution images (up to three): A mix of standard and application photos is best so judges can visualize how the product is used. Only one will be selected for publication.

  • Image requirements: High-resolution images must be 300 dpi, 6” x 4” (at least 150KB) and can be vertical or horizontal shots. We accept TIFF, JPG or EPS files. Files smaller than 150KB are unusable and will be rejected.

Judging

Winners are selected by our editorial staff based on relevance to commercial building management and potential for cost savings. 

  • Submission does not guarantee selection. You can submit multiple products, but only one may be chosen.

  • Not every product winner may appear in the magazine, but all will be featured on Buildings.com.

  • Entries not deemed a money-saving product will still be placed in the products section on Buildings.com.

  • Editors reserve the right to revise all product descriptions.

Award Coverage

Money-Saving Products is a special feature in our May/June 2020 issue. Your product description will be about 80 words and include an image.

The online feature will be promoted on our homepage, in our BUILDINGS Bulletin e-newsletter and across our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn).

Your product will be added to our Building Products, a digital catalog of solutions for facility managers.

PR Support

Winners receive complimentary issues of the magazine and links to the online feature and their individual product page. They will also have access to the Money-Saving Product logo and a news release for customization.

3 Editors’​ Choice Awards

In addition to products chosen for saving money, three editors’ choice winners will receive this syndication package:

  • Express listen podcast: A 5-minute interview

  • Article highlighting the three products

  • Inclusion in BUILDINGS Bulletin newsletter

  • One individual mention on social media

  • Prime spot in May/June issue of BUILDINGS

  • Featured placement on Buildings.com homepage for a week
