Repair, improvement funding included in appropriations bill

A new bill has been signed into law that will increase public investment in the GSA’s Federal Buildings Fund, which helps to finance major repairs and alterations to federal buildings as well as offset the costs of constructing new facilities.

The bipartisan appropriations bill will provide $10.2 for the GSA that will provide all the funding necessary for its upcoming St. Elizabeth’s Department of Homeland Security Headquarters consolidation projects, as well as two other Land Ports of Entry projects in New York and New Mexico. The bill will provide financial assistance for courthouse improvement projects in the GSA’s portfolio as well.

“The agreement gives us the opportunity to build on the progress we have made in recent years. We look forward to continuing to provide our federal agency partners the services and facilities they need to fulfill their missions,” says GSA Administrator Denise Turner Roth.
