A new report from Navigant Research examines the strategy and execution of nine leading providers of demand response management systems (DRMSs), providing industry participants with an objective assessment of these companies’ relative strengths and weaknesses. According to the report, Siemens and AutoGrid are the leading providers of DRMSs in terms of strategy and execution.
As the need for robust demand response programs continues to increase, operational reliability and the need for more centralized management and control have become vital. Many vendors are now offering solutions categorized as DRMSs, which help energy providers manage demand response programs and improve the return on investment.
"The global DRMS market is heating up and leading companies are investing heavily to develop their capabilities and strategies," says Brett Feldman, principal research analyst with Navigant Research. "While Siemens is a multinational corporation well-ensconced in the utility operational technology arena, AutoGrid is a Silicon Valley start-up that is looking to bring big data software analytics to the stodgy energy industry."
The companies are rated on 10 criteria: vision, go-to market strategy, partners, technology, geographic reach, sales, marketing, and distribution, product performance, product portfolio, pricing and staying power.
