Restroom Automation Helps Improve Tenant Satisfaction

July 16, 2001

Schostak Brothers & Co. Inc. is the managing agent for the 11-story, 350,000-square-foot, prestigious Maccabees Center in Southfield, MI. With a facility population of over 1,100, tenant satisfaction and retention are paramount goals. Beginning in 1999, the Schostak Brothers initiated a “rolling” installation of touch-free systems throughout the Maccabees Center. Automation was seen as a critical component of the center’s restroom renovation program. “In today’s health-conscious world, ‘touch-free’ systems are what people want,” notes Paula E. Goldman-Spinner, vice president and director of office building management for Schostak Brothers.

Once the decision had been made to install touch-free, ADA-compliant systems at the Maccabees Center, Goldman-Spinner conducted an extensive search. Her goal was to locate and evaluate the best touch-free systems currently available for use in “away from home” restrooms. After testing various touch-free systems provided by the leading manufacturers of restroom automation products, Goldman-Spinner selected Technical Concepts to supply a comprehensive array of touch-free restroom components, including AutoFlush®, AutoFresh®, AutoFacet®, and the OneShot™ AutoSoap System. The Technical Concepts systems were judged to best meet the Maccabees Center’s comprehensive needs for improved restroomaesthetics, reliability, hygiene, and cost containment. Products and the system chosen are also user-friendly and ADA-compliant.

In commenting on the new restroom fixture components, Goldman-Spinner states, “It has improved the image and cleanliness of the restroom environment. My compliments to Technical Concepts on a job well done in developing high-quality touch-free systems.” Touch-free washroom systems by Technical Concepts, Mundelein, IL.,
