Rank times IQ is a constant, or so the joke goes.
I don’t think that the two are so inevitably linked (although from my personal work experience I could offer a few examples that support the math). But if you have ever wondered about your IQ for the FM business, I have a way for you to test it – and have some fun at the same time.
BUILDINGS has created a series of 10-question, multiple-choice quizzes that will challenge your aptitude on topics from HVAC, green principles, and maintenance guidelines to standards, lighting, and energy management. Starting the Friday of the Memorial Day weekend, we will post a quiz each week at www.BUILDINGS.com/WYFMIQ. There are five quizzes, each worth 10 points for a total possible score of 50 points. Upon completion of a quiz, takers receive a score sheet that compares their scores to those of all others who have taken the test to date. The contender with the highest score wins an Apple iPad. If several contenders share the high score, the winner of the iPad will be drawn from a hat.
The final quiz on Friday, June 20, coincides with the weekend start to this year’s Every Building Conference & Expo, which takes place in Orlando at the Gaylord Palms Convention Center June 22–24. The conference offers numerous opportunities to increase your FM aptitude with its 40 educational sessions, continuing professional development credits, and more than 400 exhibiting companies for you to quiz about solutions for your facility. At the BUILDINGS booth on the expo floor, attendees will be able to take the quizzes and vie for the prize.
