Impervia Windows by Pella

May 23, 2011

Pella’s fiberglass composite window product.

Pella’s Impervia windows are made from Duracast, a patented five-layer, engineered fiberglass composite that is more durable than aluminum – in testing performed in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) testing standards, Pella’s Duracast has displayed superior performance in strength, ability to withstand extreme heat and cold and resistance to dents and scratches. These windows offer the thermal efficiency of wood, are priced competitively with vinyl, and come in an array of styles, sizes, and options to fit your project requirements.

Impervia windows are available with optional high-density foam insulation for added energy savings and also offer SunDefense low emissivity insulating glass. With the look of clear glass, SunDefense provides a high percentage of visible light transmission (65%) while minimizing solar heat gain (28%) for a light-to-solar gain ratio, or LSG, of 2.3. In addition, the glass reduces undesirable ultraviolet light transmission to 5% and provides excellent insulating properties (U-factor of 0.25).
