These systems use solar hot water for economical dehumidification of outdoor ventilation air that’s typically 30- to 50-percent more energy efficient than dry desiccant systems

Available from Kathabar Dehumidification Systems Inc., KDS Solar liquid desiccant systems utilize solar hot water for economical dehumidification of outdoor ventilation air that’s typically 30- to 50-percent more energy efficient than dry desiccant systems.

Making use of solar heat can lead to increased energy efficiency and significant utility savings for applications requiring high amounts of outside air. By incorporating KDS Solar, buildings can achieve large-scale energy savings in air conditioning. In addition to using solar hot water as a heat source, KDS Solar can use low-cost cooling tower water as a coolant source. Kathabar enthalpy recovery devices are available for additional energy savings.

Kathabar Solar is valid for a wide range of applications at industrial, commercial, institutional, and LEED-certified facilities with as low as 20-percent relative humidity.

All Kathabar equipment is made of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) with industrial-grade construction to provide less maintenance and long equipment life. Kathabar liquid desiccant systems, most efficient when cool or cold dry air is desired, can handle airflows from 750 to 84,000 CFM.
