Dec. 3, 2002
Fighting crowds, waiting in long lines, searching for available parking: If this is your impression of Newark Liberty International Airport, you better think again. After recently undergoing major development, the airport now offers passenger convenience in the Continental Airlines Hub. The $1 billion  project, titled Global Gateway, began in 1998.Construction on the Global Gateway was completed by Anselmi & DeCicco, Maplewood, NJ, in only four years. Project highlights of the Global Gateway include: the addition of 2 million square feet to Terminal C, a third concourse installed to the terminal, a wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar, and more.Future-Ready Florida CourthouseCombining the vision of The DLR Group’s Orlando office and the historic character of Gainesville, FL, resulted in the newly designed Alachua County Criminal Courts Complex. The new courthouse will feature 11 court rooms and 12 judge’s chambers. The four-story, 118,000-square-foot facility segregates circulation patterns on the court floors by locating the public circulation to the east and the private circulation to the west. As building expansion occurs, these corridors can remain intact. Slated for completion in October 2003, the Alachua County Criminal Courts Complex is designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program for a silver certification.
