With a total market capitalization of $6.8 billion in June, Duke Realty Corp. owns a diversified portfolio of properties in 13 major U.S. cities. As a real estate investment trust (REIT), Duke has doubled its common stock dividend since its October 1993 public offering. According to the Indianapolis offices, Duke has 4.3 million square feet of new construction slated for completion this year. The company is involved in 270 office buildings, totaling 29.8 million square feet; 10 shopping centers, totaling 818,000 square feet; two chain stores, totaling 30,000 square feet; and 684 industrial buildings, totaling 85.3 million square feet.
