Buildings Who's Who - Triad Hospitals, Dallas, TX

Aug. 7, 2001
50 hospitals and 14 outpatient surgery centers in nearly 20 Sunbelt and western states.

The breakdown of HCA spelled triumph for some of its spin-offs - and big adjustments for others. For Triad Hospitals, it was the former, and, in fact, it stayed within the HCA family in one of its biggest deals in the past year.

With its recent purchase of another HCA spin-off, Quorum Health Group of Brentwood, TN, Triad now is one of the largest hospital operators in the United States. The company, which tends to have facilities in smaller, barely competitive markets, operates some 50 hospitals and 14 outpatient surgery centers in nearly 20 Sunbelt and western states. Nearly half are in Arizona and Texas.
