Contractor Certification Program Unveils Labor Warranty

June 18, 2013
New guarantee covers floorcovering installations by certified crews.

Contractors certified by the International Standards & Training Alliance (INSTALL) are now backed by a warranty covering installations of carpet, resilient flooring, and hardwood in commercial and residential applications.

Improperly installed floor coverings rank among the most common complaints in construction, according to Michel Vermette, senior vice president for international and commercial with Mohawk Industries, a floorcovering developer.

"The INSTALL Warranty on labor combined with the Certified Contractor program will mitigate this major disruption for end users and the A&D community,” Vermette says. “This warranty program will minimize disruptions for end users, increase performance of the project lifecycle, and create higher customer satisfaction.”

An INSTALL Certified Contractor employs only mechanics who have current INSTALL certifications themselves, a credential obtained through extensive training and testing under a standardized curriculum. The warranty is valid for all Certified Contractors.
