Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America introduces CONTRAFLAM One, a single-chamber fire-rated glass that features up to 35% less embodied carbon than comparable 120-minute rated products. The sustainable fire-resistive glass also combines elevated performance and aesthetics over conventional multi-chamber and multi-laminate options.

Between 65% and 85% of total embodied carbon emissions are produced during the production phase of materials; Vetrotech used a three-step approach to reduce the carbon emissions associated with producing CONTRAFLAM One, including emissions tracking, reducing emissions through production enhancements, and purchasing renewable energy certificates. This allows building professionals to reduce embodied carbon to improve their own decarbonization efforts and align with LEED v4.1 requirements.
