Johnson Controls’ Silent-Aire CDU Platform Enables a Smooth Transition to Liquid Data Center Cooling

The Coolant Distribution Units can deliver a wide range of cooling capacities.
Sept. 16, 2025

Johnson Controls has expanded its data center thermal management offerings with the introduction of its Silent-Aire Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) platform. It enables data centers to seamlessly transition to liquid cooling as rack densities rise. Silent-Aire CDUs offer a wide range of scalable cooling capacities, from 500 kW to over 10 MW in flexible designs that are tailored to the needs of any data center deployment.

The CDUs allow for precision cooling of denser chips that support the growth of AI and the increasing demand for computing power, enabling data center owners and operators to deploy the latest in semiconductor technology. Silent-Aire CDUs are positioned either within the rack row adjacent to heat-generating equipment or in the whitespace perimeter.
