GE Appliances, a Haier company, Air & Water Solutions, has expanded its Zoneline vertical terminal air conditioner (VTAC) lineup with 2-ton (24,000 Btu) UltimateV11 and UltimateV12 models. The new models address growing demand for higher-capacity HVAC solutions in hospitality, multifamily, assisted living, and light commercial applications. VTAC systems are often the preferred solution for hotels and similar properties because they operate quietly, perform reliably, and are easy to conceal; the new models can service larger guest suites, extended-stay accommodations, apartments, and shared amenities while maintaining the space-saving footprint of a concealed VTAC system.

The two new models feature variable-speed inverter technology that modulates output from 5,000 to 24,000 Btu; they also have a twin-rotor compressor that allows the system to operate longer at lower speeds, improving energy efficiency, humidity control, and comfort. The units have a SEER2 rating of up to 13.9 and can operate as cold-climate heat pumps capable of reliable performance down to 0 degrees F. The UltimateV12 model (pictured) includes a dedicated variable-speed makeup air fan that can deliver up to 70 standard cubic feet per minute of conditioned outdoor air.
