Johnson Controls’ YORK YDAM Chillers Cool Data Centers Efficiently

The air-cooled magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller helps data centers scale faster without consuming water.
Feb. 9, 2026

The YORK YDAM air-cooled magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller by Johnson Controls is ideal for high-density, multi-story data centers, helping them scale faster and more efficiently without consuming water.

Featuring 3.5MW of cooling, YDAM delivers up to 20% increased capacity density in a smaller footprint than other chillers. It uses YORK magnetic bearing compressors that allow high chilled-fluid setpoints to support 45-degree C. warm-water cooling of today’s inference and training GPUs. It can also operate with wide temperature differences, helping reduce pump size and energy consumption for CapEx and OpEx savings.
