Focal Point’s Akeso Multifunction Luminaires Illuminate Healthcare Environments

Focal Point has launched Akeso, a family of multifunction healthcare luminaires that elevate both patient comfort and clinical performance through glare-free illumination and integrated functionality. Built for patient rooms and care environments, Akeso comes in two lens profiles—Peak (pictured) and Pitch, each of which deliver soft ambient light, powerful exam illumination, and optional reading light.

The exam mode delivers an average of 100 footcandles on the patient bed, meeting ANSI/IES RP 29 25 standards, while the ambient and reading modes offer comfortable light that supports rest, recovery, and patient autonomy through optional integration with a pillow speaker. The Peak lens has a symmetrical profile suitable for tandem or single-luminaire applications, while Pitch has a subtly angled lens for tandem overbed performance. NSF and IP65 ratings support cleanability, and room-side access to drivers and LED boards simplifies maintenance.
